Preparation and Notification
Authorized employees must know the types of energy, size, hazards and control methods. The workers affected are informed about the cause of work and interruption to be done before the machine is stopped.
Isolation and Verification
The machine is stopped by the normal method. Energy separation devices are taken to a safe location, personal locks and labels are applied. Stored energy is removed. Controls are seen in a neutral position and isolation is verified with an operation test or appropriate testing device.
Removing the lock
The general rule is that the locker employee removes his own lock. Exceptional removal procedures require a written, authorized and registered special procedure. The fields and employees are checked before re-starting.
