Choosing lockout tagout equipment for a factory
Begin with the isolation point
Choose a lockout device by the equipment it must secure. A circuit breaker, valve handle, compressed-air connector and cable application have different geometries. Record photographs, dimensions and operating conditions before selecting a product. Similar appearance does not establish compatibility.
Plan personal and group locking
Personal locks, hasps and group lock boxes support different parts of an approved energy-control procedure. Define who applies the isolation, how personal protection is maintained and how shift changes are managed. Key arrangements and lock identification should follow the plant’s policy rather than an arbitrary colour choice.
Check the complete equipment set
Include warning tags, identification, storage and the accessories required for the actual work. A standard kit is useful only when it matches the department’s energy points. Check device materials, shackle sizes, valve ranges and attachment methods in the technical information before ordering.
Connect products with procedures and training
The equipment should support machine-specific instructions and practical training. Loto Partner supplies lockout products and offers surveys, visual instructions and LOTO training simulator projects. Supply does not by itself establish compliance: the plant must implement its approved energy-control programme and verify effectiveness.
